Let’s Begin!
Let’s take a closer look at the Splendor Days 12x12 Layout Kit. I want to share some inspiration and ideas on what I was thinking when I created the layout and why I love to create my own extra elements for fussy cutting.

About Lesson

Next, we’ll carefully lay out all the patterned papers on our background, arranging them exactly as they will be adhered. This step allows you to see how everything fits together before committing with adhesive. Take your time adjusting the placement,

Once you’re happy with the arrangement, snap a quick photo of your layout. This will serve as a helpful reference in case anything shifts while you’re adhering the pieces down. Or you can always refer back to the video.

Gently move the papers aside in an organised manner, keeping them in order so they’re easy to place back. Then, begin adhering them down one by one, starting with the base layers and working your way up. This method ensures precision and helps maintain the original design you created.

I always find that starting with a small strip of adhesive works best to hold your paper in place before fully committing. This way, you can gently secure each piece while still having the flexibility to make adjustments if needed. Once you’re happy with the placement, you can go back and add liquid adhesive underneath for a stronger, more permanent hold.

This technique is especially helpful in case of a tiny mishap—like a slightly crooked piece or an unexpected shift—because it allows you to lift and reposition the paper without damaging your layout. Using a combination of dry and liquid adhesive gives you both control and security, making the process smooth and stress-free!
